   How to Become an Wisconsin Notary Public
  1. Complete the Online Wisconsin Notary Training Course
  2. Fill out the application.
  3. It is your responsibility to provide an engraved official seal or official rubber stamp prior to completing the application form. The seal or stamp may be of any size or shape, but must state only the words “Notary Public”, “State of Wisconsin”, and your name. You must always sign your name exactly as set forth on your notary seal or stamp.
  4. You must complete an application form and a bond/oath form, and submit both
  5. forms to the Office of the Secretary of State with the required $20 filing fee. Forms are available from the Secretary of State’s office upon request or may be downloaded through the Internet.
  6. Locate the Secretary of State's office through the agency index on Wisconsin's webpage at "wisconsin.gov".
